Senior Full Stack Engineer

Your mission

As our new senior full-stack Engineer, youll help build and evolve the core platform that powers all of Klimate. Youll work across the frontend, backend, and infrastructure, and play a key role in keeping our systems reliable, scalable, and easy to work with.

Youll join our Product & Tech team (two developers, a product designer, and an analytics engineer) and report to and work closely with the CTO.

About Klimate

At Klimate, we enable companies pursuing real climate action to take responsibility for the emissions they cant avoid. The world talks a lot about net-zero, but most companies struggle to know what to do once reductions are no longer enough. Thats where we come in. We are a science-led business with real experts guiding companies through the world of carbon removal and how they can safely invest in taking CO₂ out of the atmosphere. Our solution combines expertise, guidance and software to help companies understand whats real, what works, what it costs, and how to do it credibly.

Founded in 2020, we are now a tight-knit team of just over 20 people from 13 nationalities united by a passion for scaling solutions to the climate crisis. We move quickly when it matters and focus on sharing ownership along the way. Besides working in teams we enable that ownership in squads making it possible for all employees to lead areas, they are passionate about. We value deep collaboration and working side-by-side in our central Copenhagen office, from where we support leading clients including Storebrand, Dalberg, OC&C, and many others.

Tasks:

Youll start by:

• Building: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code across the stack
• Collaborating: Work with product, design, and the rest of the team to plan and ship features
• Maintaining: Keep existing systems healthy while helping roll out new ones
• Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during the development process
• Reviewing: Take part in code reviews and help maintain high standards
• Improving: Stay up to date on tools and techniques that can improve our product or developer experience

Then take on responsibilities as:

• Technical direction: Help evaluate and choose tools, libraries, and patterns
• Improving processes: Shape our CI/CD, testing, and review practices so they fit how we work
• Codebase coherence: Help keep the codebase consistent, readable, and maintainable
• Architecture work: Partner with the CTO on system design and architectural decisions as the platform grows

Requirements and skills

Must-have skills & experience:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience with C#
• Strong experience with Postgres (queries, schema design)
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS
• Comfortable working with Git and modern workflows
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of backend security best practices
• Strong problem-solving and pragmatic mindset
• Good communication skills and collaboration abilities

Nice to have:

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
• Experience with GraphQL
• Interest in climate tech and sustainability

We will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis, and hire when we find the right candidate. We are looking for this position to start in March 2026 (or earlier if possible). Please note that we will start candidate interviews in January.
