About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated AI Software Engineer to join our Global AI team. In this role, you will help ensure our machine learning framework and AI infrastructure are scalable, reliable, and easy to maintain. You will work at the intersection of software engineering and data science, enabling our global team of data scientists to deliver robust Bayesian inference models and AI-powered products efficiently and securely.
You will help drive engineering excellence in the AI teamestablishing best practices for code quality, testing, version control, continuous integration, and deployment. Goals
- Build, maintain, and optimize the AI software framework used by data scientists across the organization.
- Champion high-quality software engineering practices within the AI team.
- Act as a bridge between data scientists and software engineers to ensure clarity, alignment, and scalability.
- Contribute to automation, testing, and deployment pipelines that support model development and delivery at scale.
Responsibilities
Software Development & Infrastructure
- Develop and maintain core components of our AI/ML framework, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability.
- Write clean, tested, well-documented codeprimarily in Python and R
- Implement, enforce and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment.
- Work closely with platform engineers to support containerization, orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud deployment.
Collaboration & Communication
- Facilitate seamless collaboration between the global and local data science team and software engineering teams.
- Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural planning.
- Translate research-oriented or statistical code into production-grade, scalable services.
- Ensure robust integration between machine learning outputs and broader backend systems (via APIs, pipelines, etc.).
Security & Quality Assurance
- Maintain a proactive approach to testing, code coverage, and system monitoring.
- Contribute to automated vulnerability detection and remediation workflows.
- Promote a culture of observability, maintainability, and continuous improvement within the AI team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development, ideally with exposure to machine learning or data science environments.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages used for data science or systems development (e.g., R, Python).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of version control, test automation, and deployment practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using shell scripting for automation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of Bayesian modeling, optimization, or statistical workflows is a plus.
- Exposure to software security practices, vulnerability scanning, and code quality tools.
- Prior experience helping teams transition from R-based codebase to Python-based codebase.
