About our start-up (Alice):

Alice makes personalized learning accessible for students and teachers using the latest in AI. More than 50,000 students across have already used Alice.

In 2025 we joined Y Combinators W25 batch in San Francisco, and we raised almost $6m to scale.

Though still small, our team punches above its weight with backgrounds from Top Universities, McKinsey, PhDs in statistics, 10+ years of teaching, and even Denmarks top high school GPA.

About you

Pilot, not passenger Youre intrinsically driven. Theres no playbook for building Alice.tech, so we define it together. That requires ownership both literal and figurative.

Engineer with a capital E Startups thrive by shipping fast, but without structure we crash. We need people who master the balance: speed and solid engineering. Thats the heart of the role.

What youll do/work on

• Frontend This is a front-end heavy role, so we need you to be passionate about the frontend, and be an absolute magician in building a fantastic frontend user experience from architecture to pixel-perfect implementation at high speed.
• Truly Full Stack from cloud infrastructure to web and mobile apps, and everything in between
• Cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, designers, and business stakeholders
• Tech stack: TypeScript + Vue.js on the frontend; typed Python (mypy) + FastAPI on the backend
• Continuous improvement of our practices in contributions, testing, and deployment

Requirements (/The ideal candidate will have proven experience with)

• Mindset fantastic work ethic and high ambition
• Full-stack web and mobile development with major frameworks
• Frontend frameworks Vue, React, or similar
• Fullstack frameworks Next, Nuxt, or similar
• Relational databases design and optimization
• Cloud experience AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Testing writing thorough, reliable tests
• Languages strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• Experience 8+ years of professional software development
• Education MSc in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)

Its a plus if you have experience with

• AI/LLMs building and scaling pipelines around large language models
• DevOps CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure management
• Security applying best practices across the stack
• Big data engineering e.g. Spark, MapReduce
