Are you an experienced data engineer who enjoys turning complex data into smart, scalable solutions that drive smarter decisions in a global organization? At BioMar, we are looking for a skilled professional to play a key role in shaping and growing our Azure-based data platform, enabling global analytics, real-time insights, and innovation in sustainable aquaculture.

Make a difference in how data drives our global business

As a Data Engineer at BioMar, youll build the technical foundation of our data platform and ensure data is structured, accessible, and ready to power decisions across our global business. Youll collaborate closely with colleagues in Global IT and across the organization to ensure that our Azure-based platform supports both strategic goals and technical best practices.

Weve recently moved from legacy reporting tools to a modern Azure stack, powering what we call BioMetrics our global BI suite built on Tableau. The focus is now on scaling the platform, improving performance, and enabling real-time data processing and advanced analytics. Youll be key in this journey, developing efficient data pipelines, designing enterprise data models, and optimizing every stage of the data lifecycle.

• Design and implement scalable data models and high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory
• Develop and optimize complex SQL scripts for transformation, validation, and integration
• Manage structured data across relational databases and cloud data warehouses
• Collaborate on platform architecture, data governance, and security with the Global IT team
• Drive improvements in data quality, system performance, and platform efficiency
  
  

Youll also help grow our internal capabilities by mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture.

Your Skills Will Power Smart Decisions Worldwide

Were looking for a skilled and solution-oriented Data Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a proactive mindset. You bring deep experience in building data solutions that are both technically sound and business relevant. With a solid understanding of cloud technologies, data modelling, and pipeline development, you know how to turn raw data into trusted, accessible insights.

You take ownership of quality, care about documentation, and are comfortable navigating both technical detail and cross-functional collaboration. You work well with colleagues at all levels and know how to translate technical solutions into business value.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, ideally in a cloud environment
• Proficient in SQL, data modeling best practices, and ETL/ELT design using tools like Azure Data Factory
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and cloud-based data warehousing solutions
• Understanding of how BI tools interact with data models and the importance of clear documentation
• Strong communication skills and a relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
